Mirrored Wound

Updated: Sep 30

I have this feeling that we all need healing.

When you share your pain, I start to feel something I can’t explain.

I think of memories resembling your triggers.

I remember trauma that sounds like your past.

So I laugh, nervously and look away.

Because it’s like I’m looking in the mirror.

The hurt can’t become any clearer.

You and I are one of the same.

Somehow we have this unspoken understanding.

We empathize so deep.

Together we weep.

Though my challenges differ from yours, just as your face differs from mine.

We align.

We are one.

So we speak and pick up the broken pieces.

One by one we help each other put them back together.

Now here we stand, eternal.

Now and forever.

I finally get it!

I sense the change.

Again we are one, two, but the same.

Pain broke us, but pain healed us.

Allowing us to stand in the gap of hope.

Your healing looks good on you. You are so dope!

Thank God for reflecting my pain into you and your pain into me.

We are no longer separated.

No longer ego inflated.

Coasting on elevation.

Thriving on this celebration.

Of Love. Genuine, true, authentic love.

A mirrored wound that has reduced repressed pain and frustration.

Producing cohesion, connectedness and unity of you and me.
